4NI, initially called Pleasure & Pain, formed in mid-93 in San Fransisco. The first line-up consisted of drummer Tom Hunting, bassist John Torres, and guitarist Brian Poole. The band began working on a 3-song demo during the spring of 94. After completing the demo and doing the rounds in the bay area opening for such bands as Forbidden, Violence & Exhibit A, they met Bobby Gustafson, and changed .
